Since 2004, recycled glass artist Erica Biery’s been transforming discarded glass bottles into functional household objects such as cheese boards, spoon rests, or ash trays. The transformation process basically involves putting the bottles into a kiln, slowly heating to temperatures around 1400 degrees, making them flat and slowly cooling. According to her, the entire process takes about 14-16 hours. As for the bottles, she uses the ones from popular Vodka labels such as Grey Goose, Belvedere, and Absolut.
